About Odell: Agency History
Odell Advertising/Marketing, Inc. was launched May 2, 1944, when
it was known as Emery A. Odell & Associates. Originally located
in Mansfield, Ohio, the company conducted business out of that location
exclusively until 1968. At that time, Odell entered into a working
agreement with Lance Advertising of North Canton, Ohio, owned by
Bert Skelly. One year later, all Odell interests were sold to Lance.
The 1970s saw several major changes take place as a result of growth
in sales and expansion of services. The Mansfield offices were moved
to newly remodeled quarters at 110 N. Mulberry St. and, similarly,
the North Canton group moved their operations to 330 Schneider Street.
In 1972 the corporate name, Odell Advertising/Marketing, Inc., was
registered with the Secretary of State.
A new owner/management team took the reigns in the early 1980s
as Skelly retired. His shares were bought by Loretta Caudill, Jack
Dorr and Dave Llewellyn, each officers and long-term employees who
had lent significantly to the growth of Odell sales, revenues and
goodwill in the marketplace.
July 1998 saw then-CEO, Loretta Caudill retire. Controlling interest
in the Company was purchased by Dave Llewellyn, then President of
the firm. Other shares were bought by Dean Crawford, Vice President
of Sales at the North Canton office.
Today, the Company serves a wide range of clients located across
several states. |
